Hey all. Resharing this as repeat recommend for this course went through on the old website which have been reviewing. Also enjoying the site update , although did like the old prompt to upload something of your playing from courses learning.. nice community connect option. Anyway, highly recommend Niwel Tsumbu's African fingerstyle guitar course, super engaging and fun way into the wonders of...

Bass Masterclass, Module 9, Creating Basslines, Lesson 5: Seems to me that there is a mistake in the notation. It should be a B-E-F#-E-progression but the first 2 beats with B (0:00) are missing and the written phrase is shifted and not corresponding to your playing. In Lesson 4 you speak about rhythmical inversion (1:05). Maybe you made this mistake with purpose, to check if we really practice th...

@steiko well spotted. I imagine that our transcriber felt beat 1 starting on the E chord and that is incorrect. We'll get that changed but for now refer back to the video before with the full band to play along with once you're familiar with those variations. Then see if you can along with it and ignore some of my variations and test out your own

I discovered this great course (masterclass African Bass) and started to study. I have a question concerning muting. The congolese thumb style has only left hand muting? I don't see any right hand muting, because the right hand is in the air, just sometimes the little finger anchored on the bass. If I play the A string with the thumb, the E string can be muted with the left hand. This is not possi...

@steiko it's a bit similar hand positioning to a palm mute on the guitar. Try this and find the comfortable position

Welcome to the World Music Method 3.0 I'm realising that some of the issues in the world stem from a lacking connection to art. Rulers of the old world had their court musicians, their griots, people around them who lived in the creative mode whose presence would offer balance to decision making. Modern governments are missing that connection and live on stats, data and dominant left brain func...

Agree with your observation Edd. In my view, at both government and industry level, we have gone too far with metrics and data driven analysis of problems, solutions and performance. It is my opinion that one reason why there is lack of growth in the UK is because we have stifled, oversaturated ourselves with these things to the point where we find it more difficult to think more freely, creatively and spontaneously. The 'heroic' element of our minds is being suffocated. We need more balance between the rational, analytic methods with the right-side brain skills. Its not all about stimulating growth by changing macro economic policy! Yes, and this is where encouraging the arts comes into it!

@Michael Mangroo I think one senior artist who writes their own songs and has lived through maybe 40 years of the music industry should have their perspective included and voice heard on any decision made by a government

As a drummer and percussionist, to better understand different world styles, I purchased the following courses: Brazilian Drum Kit Rhythms, Colombian Gaita Mastery, Congolese Drum Kit Rhythms, Flamenco Cajón Rhythms, Senegalese Drum Kit, World Rhythms Encyclopedia, I'm thoroughly enjoyed all courses, Just would like to offer some advice, I hope you will have more drum/percussion courses in the future :)

@Eason Lin thanks for this. We have many more guitarists and bassists in our student base so I have found the drumkit courses to be the hardest ones to sell. So that's why I haven't produced that many in comparison. What other styles interest you on drums/percussion?
