Sharing another end of module assignment for the great ‘Tribal Fingerstyle Guitar’ course. Heres a rough version of part of Yamba Ma Pasa on little 3/4. Bit clunky, but great to be learning these gems. Inspiring to see everyones video posts too.

Nice one @carey.idle Sounds steady. This one and the next one in that course are pretty epic pieces. Looking at your thumb position of the left hand. Although I’m not a 6 string guitarist from @fernando-perez‘s awesome guitar technique revision workshops we’ve done in the past one regular thing he was encouraging is to not have that left…

Sounds great @lauren-standifer Such an interesting drum groove for Takamba, it’s like the 2 bars are split into 2 different time signatures. Just wondering about your guitar positioning. Do you come from a classical background?

Yup, I did learn classical guitar style to start. I noticed Vieux Farka Toure positions his rock-style. I’ve been wondering for years if I should switch.

So here’s my latest on the Brazilian guitar course, the tune Wave by Antônio Carlos Jobim. Spent a little too long tryna figure this one out and is still a little rusty but figured I ought to post it anyway. I often find myself these days somewhere between “letting go of perfectionism” and ” but Baden Powell does it like that” haha.…

So The piece of music that I chose to play is fairly simple (though when it actually came to recording it, it proved more of a challenge listening back and noticing lots of bits that I wanted to sound better). Nice one @borneoftherhythm nice groove, right hand and arm is looking, have you tried playing this with the backing tracks in the Brazilian Guitar Techniques course. They are named mid tempo and up tempo samba groove. Might be fun jamming with those rhythm tracks as it will give you something to bounce off
