Hi Everyone, Here’s a book I started reading, which I really enjoy because it’s engagingly written and treats the socio-cultural contexts of SA popular music: https://www.bloomsbury.com/us/south-african-popular-music-9781501383427/

Any artists to listen to alongside that?

I’ve been working on the Mali blues course. This is part of the lesson on Mandingue licks. Still a little clunky.

Excellent work. Love that tune Vieux is playing in that lesson although pretty sure he’s just making it up on the spot

Hi everyone, I have been working through my phone and practicing a lot. I finally saved for a new computer and can share my progress. This is a combination of what I have learned for the end of module one. This is my first syncing audio-video correctly. I will probably stand for the next. Be well community!
